HOW TO TELL GOOD ART FROM BAD ART ...
The process we use is equivalent to a very high quality stamp and stamp pad. Therefore, drop shadows, gradients, shadings, tints, textures, colors and intensely intricate artwork cannot be used.

This artwork is unacceptable as is.
We explained the situation to the customer and new artwork was requested.
The artwork on the right is what was resubmitted.

EVOLUTION OF A CUSTOMER'S ARTWORK

ORIGINAL
It's a nice piece, but does not meet our requirements in almost every way possible ... drop shadows, tints, gradients, color overlapping, bevels, black background, low res jpeg ....

2ND SUBMISSION
Better, but not there yet. White outline around "Roxster" will not print. Also, the drop shadow should be removed. This was, happily, an Illustrator vector file and I could work with it.

FIRST DRAFT
In some instances, if it is done correctly, we can do tints in pad printing (not hot stamps). The logo without all the fancy stuff  was strong on its own, especially after I put a big fat white stroke around it. So long as a tint is in the background, like this one is, it should print OK. And this would have worked if it was black going on a white pick, but it was white on black and light inks do not print tints. We can only do that with dark ink on a light pick.

FINAL
It doesn't possess the beauty of the original, but it is the best possible alternative.
