Watch Pearl Jam Cover Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World” with Jack White

During their headlining set Saturday night, July 14, at Portugal’s NOS Alive festival, Pearl Jam invited Jack White to join them for a cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.” You can watch the performance above. White eagerly got to work, adding a couple of typically adventurous solos to the song, which served as the Seattle rocker’s closer. Pearl Jam have made a bit of a habit of inviting some of their famous friends on stage during “Rockin’ in the Free World,” which appears frequently in their set. Back in March—at a show in Rio de Janiero, Brazil—the band were joined by Chad Smith and Josh Klinghoffer—the drummer and guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Earlier this year, Pearl Jam unveiled “Can’t Deny Me,” their first new song in five years. The song is from the band’s as-yet-untitled upcoming album and was produced by the band with Brendan O’Brien. Read more
